The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail

MacOS always has the problem with software installing. Exactly, when I am installing Avid Media Composer for iMac with the version macOS Catalina 10.15.7 shows an error "The Installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance." 

Causes like below:

- Corrupt user profile.
- Insufficient permissions.
- Residual files left over from previous installation attempt.
- Incompatible hardware.

Here is the simple solution:

Follow the steps below, depending on your software version:

- Step 1: Uninstall Avid Media Composer 8.4.4 for iMac or Avid Media Composer 8.4.4 for Mac from Applications > Autodesk > Remove Avid Media Composer 8.4.4 for Mac

-Step 2: Uninstall the Avid Media Composer 8.4.4 Licensing Service.

 
-Step 3: Navigate to /Library/Application Support/Avid. 

 

- Step 4: Rename the folder AvidLicensingService to AvidLicensingService.old. 

- Step 5: Reinstall the Avid Media Composer 8.4.4 Licensing Service Update with the latest version.

 

If it does not work please let's try:

- Reboot the computer and retry the installation. 

- If it fails again with the same error message, perform a clean uninstall of Avid Media Composer 8.4.4.
- Attempt again to install Avid Media Composer 8.4.4 for iMac or Avid Media Composer 8.4.4 for Mac. - Make sure to also install all the latest updates.
